The stains on her shirt were more than coffee. Her napkin came away with brown, but the stains on her heart could not be wiped away. Mirrors never lie. Her name was fading, like frost on glass during winter. She stared at the smooth skin above her breast (memories of Kouya's lips, heat like sunburn, her heart aflame). Though she smiled, today her heart was cold.

Kyouya was the first thing Yamato saw when she opened her eyes. She smiled, but there was an immediate throbbing in her head following the action, so she smile quickly faded. She looked up at the dimming sky, and gathered that it was evening. She saw trees around her, and felt gravel and sand underneath her. In an instant, she had a flash back of the fight, remembering everything. They had lost to Ritsuka and Soubi, again. The throbbing in her head intensified, and she let out a small groan, wincing in pain.
At the sound of the groan, she heard a shuffle next to her. She turned her head suddenly, only to feel a jolt of pain. She winced again

Still smiling Kouya looked around, only to blush when she notice the stares she was getting from all around the diner. Some disapproving, some jealous and some just plain sickening, especially the looks she was getting from a table of teenaged boys. Pigs.
Trying to distract her self, Kouya unconsciously started opening and closing the lid on her new cell phone. She mechanically ran her thin fingers over the engraved initials of her lover. Her finger followed the turns and dents of the kanji that represented her beloveds name.
